2024 has been dubbed as the global year of democracy, as over 50 countries across the globe, including South Africa, will host elections.  Based on evidence of how tech and social media companies  have contributed towards extremism, polarisation and disinformation in election cycles, CODE will be actively working to ensure a safer election in the South African context.
